CHARM From the Centre for the History and Analysis of Recorded Music in England, this site currently contains almost 5,000 sound files of 78 rpm records from the King’s Sound Archive at King’s College London.

**Classical Music Library A large multi-label database of recordings with over 75,000 albums.

Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project Information on the earliest sound recording format used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The largest collection of digitized cylinders on the Web, with over 6,000 titles.

Free Music Archive A new collection of mostly indie and roots music, all royalty free. Relatively recent, so it is not large at this point.

Internet Archive 78rpm records and cylinder recordings released in the early 20th century. These recordings were contributed by users through the Open Source Audio collection. Artists available here include Ada Jones, Caruso, Eddie Cantor, Edison Concert Band, Harry MacDonough, Len Spencer, Paul Whiteman, and many others.

**Smithsonian Global Sound Includes Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, as well as Folkways Records, Cook, Dyer-Bennet, Fast Folk, Monitor, Paredon and other labels. A great resource for folk and world musics.

Spotify is an online streaming service that includes popular, classical and jazz recordings. There are currently no institutional accounts possible for this service, only individual accounts. Spotify accounts are free, but include ads both on screen and played in between tracks. One can listen commercial-free if they pay for an individual premium subscription.
